Do you have the X factor?
On September 14th, just 2 days before the theatrical release of "Pearl" and the day after posting their teaser promo for Ti West's (The House of the Devil) "MaXXXine", A24 posts on Twitter they are doing a limited time online casting call for their upcoming film in the "X" franchise.
The franchise currently consists of "X", which takes place in 1979 and we see a young Maxine Minx (played by Mia Goth), an aspiring pornographic actress in a road trip with her friends through Texas to film an adult movie during the rise of theatrical adult films. Then the prequel to X, "Pearl", takes place in 1918 where we explore the origin of Pearl, the older woman who appears in X (also played by Mia Goth). Which now gets us to "MaXXXine" (starring Goth again yes!), which takes place in bright and sunny Los Angeles in 1985. Caught up a bit? Ok back to the casting call entry!
To enter or audition, you have to reenact your own version of the final standoff scene in "X" between Maxine and Pearl (both played by Mia Goth) so this means you'd be playing both characters in one scene! A24 shares the script and clip on their site of the scene to help in recreating and submitting your own version here.
To submit your video, you must post your audition video on Tiktok, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #XCastingCall before the closing deadline on September 28th 2022 at 11:59PM ET.
